Taoisigh in Glass Houses!
Not content with muddling his way through the "Gift/Loan" crisis, Bertie Ahern has risked the wrath of Roman by questioning one of central tenets of Catholicism. In Leinster House, whilst under pressure from Enda "why use one word when you can throw in a couple more and six for the pot" Kenny, Pat "Don't come the common man with me, bucko" Rabbitte and Joe "the Comedian" Higgins, our erstwhile Taoiseach boldly announced that "no-one is infallible."
It comes as a great relief to blankpaige that the parliamentary onslaught didn't provoke Mr Ahern into an unnecessary swipe at Islam also. He is in enough bother as it is! It strikes me that what with a failed marriage, temporary financial difficulties, inappropriate gifts/loans, long-term support for Manchester United, a liberal attitude to ethics, recurrent temporary amnesia, the sacking of a junior ministers for the same behaviour, writing blank cheques, not remembering who you bought your house from and having friends with strange monikers such as "Paddy the Plasterer", our man in Drumcondra isn't really in a position to start questioning the Pontiff.
Taoisigh in glass houses shouldn't start throwing brown envelopes, me thinks.
